TEACHING

Although CSIC researchers have no teaching obligations, I have taught on several occasions at universities and international schools:

  • 2020-2021: Teaching Assistant in quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and mathematics of waves and fields (first semester), and statistical physics, solid state physics, and wave optics (second semester) for second-year undergraduate students in Physics at the University of Manchester, UK.

  • 9-13 Dec 2019: Invited Lecturer on CMB polarization and spectral distortions at the XIII Tonale Winter School of Cosmology, Passo del Tonale, Italy.

Lecture 1 (slides): CMB, foregrounds, and state-of-the-art from Planck
Lecture 2 (slides): Component separation methods
Lecture 3 (slides): CMB B-mode polarization
Lecture 4 (slides): CMB spectral distortions

  • Apr 2013: Teaching Assistant in data analysis for PhD students and postdocs at the International Young Astronomer School on Exploiting the Herschel and Planck data, Paris-Meudon Observatory, France.

  • 2008-2009: Teaching Assistant in mathematics, electromagnetism, mechanics, and experimental optics for first- to third-year undergraduate students in Physics at the Paris-Saclay University, Orsay, France.

  • Oct 2007: Teaching Assistant in probability and statistics for fourth-year master's students at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Cape Town, South Africa (class photo).

  • 2005-2008: Teaching Assistant in statistical physics, wave physics, solid mechanics, geometrical optics, and experimental optics for first- to third-year undergraduate students in Physics at the Paris-Saclay University, Orsay, France.

I am supervising a postdoctoral researcher as part of the RadioForegroundPlus European project:

  • 2024-         Dr Ishaque Khan

I am the supervisor of two PhD students at the University of Cantabria in Spain:

  • 2024-         Sefa Pamuk

  • 2022-         Jyothis Chandran (currently on leave since June 2024): paper

I have been mentoring three PhD students at the University of Manchester in the UK:

  • 2015-2018 Dr Tianyue Chen, who was offered a postdoctoral position at the MIT (USA): paper

  • 2014-2017 Dr Carlos Hervias-Caimapo, who was offered a postdoctoral position at the University of Florida (USA): paper

  • 2014-2017 Dr Lucas Collis Olivari, who became a data scientist in finance in Brazil: paper
